Employer.com buyer talks about building a business with premium domain names

Employer. Com buyer talks about building a business with premium domain names 1

Yesterday I published the employer.com domain sale for $450K. The buyer Jesse Tinsley. There is a great video on Nikonomics that details Tinsley’s story of building a business by buying premium domains. Credit to @domainretail as he was the person that uncovered this video. Around 25 min starts the real discussion about domain names, Like why he would not use .net, the return on using a premium .com name, etc…

The video talks about a domain name being purchased for $9.2M but it should be noted that there is some copy in the video description that says the following:

Sponsored

Why did Jesse Tinsley spend $9.2M on a premium domain name? ($9.2M is a bit of an exaggeration. They actually paid closer to $450k cash down but the deal structure could make it up to a $9.2M purchase)

So employer.com it seems is being valued at $9.2M with a structure that involved $450K upfront.
