The sentence comes after a double fatality crash on Interstate 15 in March 2023. Blanchard, who was driving a 2001 Lincoln Navigator, had swerved into the southbound lane of traffic and hit a Toyota RAV4 head-on.

The crash killed two victims, 38-year-old Destiny J. Thain of Rexburg and 18-year-old Naomi Hernandez of Meridian.

Thain was a passenger with Blanchard. Hernandez was a passenger in the Toyota RAV4.

“My thoughts and prayers go out to the victims and their families in this case,” said Bingham County Prosecuting Attorney Ryan Jolley.
