Two people taken to hospital after crash in Bonneville County

Idaho State Police is investigating a two-vehicle collision with injuries at the intersection of Yellowstone Highway and Iona Road.

Just before 2:15 p.m. on November 19, 2024, Idaho State Police (ISP) troopers responded to reports of an injury crash at Yellowstone Highway and Iona Road. A 66-year-old male from Aberdeen was travelling eastbound on Iona Road in a 2022 Buick Enclave and failed to yield to right of way traffic. A 26-year-old female from Idaho Falls was travelling westbound on Yellowstone Highway in a 2016 Honda CR-V when it collided with the Buick Enclave.

A 65-year-old female passenger from Aberdeen from the Buick Enclave and the driver of the Honda CR-V were transported by ground ambulance to a local hospital. The occupants of the Buick Enclave were wearing their seatbelt. The driver of the Honda CR-V was not wearing a seatbelt.

All directions of the traffic were blocked for approximately thirty minutes while emergency crews worked the scene.

This crash is under investigation by Idaho State Police.

BONNEVILLE COUNTY — Two people have been transported to a local hospital after a crash Tuesday afternoon. 

According to Idaho 511, the crash happened after 2 p.m. on U.S. Highway 26 near East Iona Road. All lanes are blocked and drivers are asked to use caution and expect delays. 

No other information was available about how many vehicles were involved or what exactly happened. 

Idaho State Police are on the scene and Lt. Marvin Crain said more details are expected to be released later. 

City of Idaho Falls spokesman Eric Grossarth told EastIdahoNews.com that two patients were taken by Idaho Falls Fire Department ambulances to a local hospital. Their ages and conditions are unknown.
