CPD, Cook County Sheriff’s Office launch ‘Vehicle Safety Days’ for theft prevention

CHICAGO — Chicago police and the Cook County Sheriff’s Office are teaming up to help drivers protect their vehicles from theft.

Both departments will launch their ‘Vehicle Safety Days’ campaign on Saturday, Feb. 24. The agencies will offer steering wheel locks, catalytic converter etchings and valuable theft prevention information. 

The Sheriff’s Office also encouraged citizens to sign up for its tracking system if their vehicle is stolen or hijacked illegally.
