SAN ELIZARIO, Texas (KVIA) — A woman accused of trespassing on school grounds and posing as a San Elizario ISD student is now on trial.
In 2021, police say Casey Garcia posted her alleged trespassing onto social media. She made several posts, including one titled “Going to school as my 13-year-old daughter (Middle School edition)”. At the time, Garcia said she was trying to make a point by proving the ease with which an adult could enter the campus. Garcia claimed in the video that her daughter attended the school Garcia allegedly illegally entered. Garcia was 30 years old when police arrested her.
Deputies later obtained warrants for Garcia’s arrest and took her into custody at her home. They initially booked her into the El Paso County Detention Facility on a $7,900 bond. Officers initially charged Garcia with criminal trespass, tampering with government records, and an outstanding traffic warrant. Garcia is now on trial for just one charge: criminal trespass.
