A woman was killed in a hit-and-run crash Saturday morning on I-880 in Oakland.
At 7:42 a.m. Saturday, authorities responded to reports of a pedestrian lying on southbound I-880 near the Hegenberger Road off-ramp.
The woman, who has not yet been identified, died at the scene.
The California Highway Patrol wrote in a Facebook post that the woman’s injuries “coincide with those of an auto-versus-pedestrian traffic crash,” though details surrounding the crash and how it occurred are unclear.
Any witnesses to the crash or anyone with information are asked to contact the California Highway Patrol’s Oakland office at 510-457-2875.
