Man in grave condition after East Oakland shooting

A man was in grave condition after he was shot in East Oakland Saturday evening, authorities said.

The shooting was reported around 5:37 p.m. on the 7400 block of Weld St. Authorities said the man was shot while sitting in a vehicle.

He was transported to a hospital from the scene. Police have not yet said if the man was shot by someone in a passing vehicle, or by someone who approached the vehicle on foot.

A motive for the shooting is under investigation.

No arrests have been made.

Police and Crime Stoppers of Oakland are offering up to $5,000 in reward money for information leading to the arrest of suspect. Anyone with information may call police at (510) 238-3821, or Crime Stoppers at (510) 777-8572.
