Bay Area hip-hop artist, White Dave (Noah David Coogler) today released part one (CASH RULES) of his new double album LOVE HURTS CASH RULES, along with the music video for “The Other Guys” off the stellar LP. Part two (LOVE HURTS) will drop next Friday, October 22. Executive produced by his older brother, Academy Award-nominated filmmaker Ryan Coogler, the project also features Grammy Award winner and Academy Award-nominated artist Raphael Saadiqon the standout track “Love Hurts.” CASH RULES is available to stream/download HERE. Check out the video for “The Other Guys” HERE.

“When I first talked to Raphael on the phone, I was blown away by how down to earth and wise he was,” said White Dave. “I was so hyped to just be choppin’ it up with him and had to let him know what a big fan I was and how much his work has impacted me as an artist. I’m really honored to have him as the only feature on the album and can’t wait for you guys to hear the track.”

Of working with White Dave, Oakland native Raphael Saadiq said, “I was especially excited to collaborate with White Dave because we share such a strong connection to the Bay Area music scene. I was really feeling where he’s going with his music.”

The new album follows White Dave’s latest collaboration with G-Eazy, Dame D.O.L.L.A. (Damian Lillard), and P-Lo – “About That Time” – which was featured on the soundtrack for Space Jam: A New Legacy. This past spring Dave also debuted his latest EP Porch Sessions, which is comprised of five anthemic tracks that showcase his versatility and knack at blending memorable beats with gorgeous instrumentation

Inspired by the likes of Kid Cudi, Tupac, DMX, and Biggie, White Dave has demonstrated his skill at creating music that pushes the creative envelope and underscores his spirit of individuality. His work has been featured in various critically claimed films such as Black Panther (“Nervous”), Creed (“Intolerant”), and on Judas and the Black Messiah: The Inspired Album (“Appraise”). His 2017 album, The Season of the Rich, was also executive-produced by Grammy award-winning musician Ludwig Göransson.
