Former NFL QB Jesse Palmer to host ‘The Bachelor’

Former Florida Gators and New York Giants quarterback Jesse Palmer is now better known for both his starring role on ABC’s “The Bachelor” and his ability as a college football analyst on ESPN.

Palmer, 42, will now take that to a whole new level. It was announced on Tuesday that the former quarterback will host season 26 of “The Bachelor,” which is expected to air in January of 2022.

“For more than 20 years, The Bachelor has brought the world dozens of unforgettable love stories, including at one time, my own,” Jesse Palmer said in a statement, via The Hollywood Reporter. “Falling in love is one of life’s greatest gifts, and I am humbled by the opportunity to return to the show as host this season to offer the newest Bachelor advice gained from firsthand experience and I am grateful to play a small part in his journey.”

Palmer was a star in season five of the iconic reality television show back in 2004. He’s since hosted “The Proposal” and “Good Morning America” on ABC.

Jesse Palmer was a fourth-round pick of the New York Giants back in 2001. He appeared in just eight games (three starts) in two NFL seasons, recording three interceptions against four touchdowns.

The Canada native is better known in the sports world as a star quarterback for Florida from 1997-2000. That span saw him throw 31 touchdowns against 17 interceptions.

In terms of his new gig, Palmer replaces long-time host Chris Harrison in the host role. It was also reported that he signed an extension with ESPN to continue being an analyst for its college football coverage. Palmer has excelled in that role since joining the four-letter network back in 2007.
