A little over a week after a man went missing and was presumed to have drowned in coastal waters, authorities recovered a male body from a nearby beach Friday.
Around 11:55 a.m., a state parks employee found a clothed male body that had washed up on the shore of San Gregorio State Beach, a sheriff’s office spokesman said.
Firefighters and sheriff’s deputies joined park rangers at the beach’s north end and recovered the body, which “appeared to have been in the water for some time.”
No information was available Friday afternoon on the body’s identity. Agencies have not offered any updates on a 36-year-old man presumed drowned after having last been seen June 24 just offshore at Tunitas Creek Beach, just over two miles north of San Gregorio.
