San Pablo home-invasion robbery suspects arrested

SAN PABLO — Two men were arrested Thursday and a third man was still being sought in connection with a home-invasion robbery last month on the city’s north end, authorities said.

In a social-media post, police said officers responded around 8 a.m. May 12 for a report of multiple suspects carrying out that robbery.

When officers arrived, they learned two men crept up on a man outside the home before knocking him to the ground and dragging him inside. There, the gunmen found six family members, and hit some victims in their heads while making threats to kill them.

In home surveillance-camera footage released by police, two men can be seen sneaking up on a man watering the lawn with a garden hose, from behind and to one side of him.

Police said the robbers took wallets, jewelry, a computer and about $5,000 in cash. The video shows the men running from the home to a waiting gray sedan that drove away.

Investigators were able to find surveillance-camera footage of the car as it drove east from the 2100 block of Rivers Street onto northbound lanes of San Pablo Avenue.

After developing information on suspects and surveilling their activities over several weeks, officers obtained search warrants and used them just after 4 a.m. Thursday alongside other law enforcement agencies in Vallejo, Pittsburg and Antioch.

At a Vallejo home, a 26-year-old man wanted for parole violation and gun-related charges in Solano and San Francisco counties was arrested on suspicion of multiple charges, including robbery, identity theft, conspiracy, and being a felon in possession of guns, ammo and body armor. Officers also recovered several firearms, ammunition and a bulletproof vest.

At an Antioch home, a 32-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of robbery, identity theft, conspiracy and being a felon in possession of a handgun.

A third man, Pierre Vines, 26, of Pittsburg, is still sought in connection with the robbery and faces possible charges of robbery, identity theft, conspiracy and possession of stolen property, police said.
