San Jose: Public’s help sought in identifying strong-arm robbery suspect

SAN JOSE – Authorities are asking for the public’s help in identifying a San Jose strong-arm robbery suspect.

The San Jose Police Department is asking for the public’s help in identifying the person pictured here. He is wanted in connection with a strong-arm robbery near the 4900 block of Miramar Avenue on Monday, May 31, 2021. 

The robbery was reported at 6:15 p.m. Monday in a residential neighborhood near the 4900 block of Miramar Avenue, said San Jose police Officer Steven Aponte in a news release.

Aponte said the suspect ran up to the victim and “forcibly stole” jewelry from their wrists. The suspect then ran to a newer model dark-colored BMW sedan and drove away on Stevens Creek Boulevard.

The victim suffered injuries including scratches, bruising and swelling to their wrists, Aponte said.

Aponte said officers retrieved surveillance video that captured the suspect committing the robbery.

The suspect was described as a Latino or White male in his late teens or early 20s and 5 feet 5 inches to 5 feet 8 inches tall, with a stocky or muscular build and short brown hair. He was last seen wearing a white T-shirt, light blue jeans and white and black sneakers.
