GoFundMe set for 12-year-old fatally shot in an East Bay home

A GoFundMe account has been arranged to help pay for funeral expenses for a young girl fatally shot recently in Antioch.

Antioch police found K’Lea Davis, 12, suffering from a gunshot wound in a bedroom of a home in the 200 block of Oak Haven Way on May 12. Despite life-saving measures by emergency personnel, she was pronounced dead at the scene.

Davis was an Oakland resident and student at KIPP Bridge Academy charter school in Oakland.

School officials announced her passing on the academy’s Facebook page this week.

“This tragic and untimely loss is devastating, and our thoughts and hearts are extremely heavy at this time,” the post read. “We mourn with her family and loved ones.”

The post directed community members to support the famiy at the GoFundMe site.

Police did not say what connection, if any, the victim had to the suspect, who fled on foot after the shooting. He was identified as Oakland resident Michael Fritz, 19, and there is a warant for his arrest.
