Game notes: The Pistons earned a surprise upset over Memphis on Thursday, boosted by the return of two veterans who weren’t supposed to play. The win puts the Pistons in a tie for the league’s second-worst lottery odds with five games to play. … This is the the Pistons’ final road game of the season. They split a pair with the Sixers in late January in Detroit. … Against the NBA’s easiest schedule down the stretch, the Sixers have won seven straight, and own a three-game lead as the East’s No. 1 seed. They survived Friday night against a decimated New Orleans team, 109-107, led by Joel Embiid’s 37 points. Tobias Harris’ corner 3 with 70 seconds left was the game-winner. … The Pistons should have some veterans back in the lineup, as only Josh Jackson, Hamidou Diallo, Rodney McGruder and Dennis Smith Jr. are listed as “out.” Jerami Grant, who hasn’t played since April 26 with right knee soreness, is questionable.
