SAN ANTONIO, Texas — Texas Gov. Greg Abbott said he would hold a “major press conference on the unaccompanied minor crisis” at 4:30 p.m. MT on Wednesday.
Abbott was set to deliver his remarks at the Freeman Coliseum in San Antonio, which is currently housing around 1,300 migrant children who have shown up at U.S.-Mexico border crossings.
In addition to San Antonio, temporary shelters for migrant children have also been established in El Paso, Midland and Dallas.
Abbott has repeatedly been critical of the Biden administration’s border policies that the governor blames for the migrant surge in Texas.
