Video: Time-lapse video shows SFO air traffic before Thanksgiving

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and other authorities urged Americans to avoid traveling during the Thanksgiving holiday and to keep celebrations small, but millions have disregarded warnings amid a worsening coronavirus pandemic, the Associated Press said.

At San Francisco International Airport, planes were landing and taking off and landing at regular pace. The time-lapse video above by photographer Karl Mondon compresses 10 minutes in 18 seconds.

According to the Associated Press, 1 million Americans filled airports and planes over the weekend. It also said that 3 million people went through U.S. airport checkpoints from Friday to Sunday. It was the busiest travel that transportation hubs have seen since the middle of March, the AP said.
