You’ve got until 7 p.m. Sunday for one last Italian ice or frozen custard.
Then Rita’s Italian Ice will close up shop in Campbell.
“We lost the financial battle with COVID-19 and heartbroken that we have decided to close permanently,” franchise owner Ramya Ramamurthy posted on social media. “I want to thank all of you for the support and well wishes you have given us right from the start. … I wish you all the very best and pray that this situation will resolve very soon.”
This location at 475 E. Campbell Ave. opened three years ago. It’s part of a company that has been specializing since 1984 in East Coast-born Italian ices and the frozen custards popular in the Midwest.
Sunday’s hours will be 12:30 to 7 p.m.
According to the website, other shops still operating in the Bay Area include those in Santa Clara, Scotts Valley, Fremont, Castro Valley, Alameda and Brentwood.
