Suspect charged with murder in Antioch 7-Eleven shooting

MARTINEZ — A 25-year-old man has been charged in connection with a July 27 shooting in Antioch in which a woman was killed and a man was injured, court records show.

Ramello D. Randle was charged Wednesday with murdering 24-year-old Jonaye Lahkel Bridges and injuring a 27-year-old man. The shooting occurred 12:35 a.m Monday at the 7-Eleven at 2301 Buchanan Road in Antioch.

According to police, Bridges was shot inside of her car, parked at the convenience store. Police discovered the man inside the store suffering from two gunshot wounds.

Officers investigating the incident were told several people were in the parking lot outside the store when a male suspect fired shots at a parked vehicle before leaving on foot, police said.

Randle was charged with murder, attempted murder, and two counts of shooting at an occupied motor vehicle. He is currently detained at the county jail in Martinez and is not eligible to be bailed out, according to county records.
