Antioch police investigate fatal shooting

ANTIOCH — Police are investigating an early-Monday shooting that resulted in one fatality and sent another victim to the hospital, authorities said.

Just after 12:35 a.m., officers responded to 7-Eleven, 2301 Buchanan Road, for a report of a gunshot-wound victim, police said.

When officers arrived, they found a 27-year-old male inside the convenience store suffering from at least two gunshot wounds and a 24-year-old woman sitting in a parked vehicle suffering from at least one wound.

Officers provided emergency life-saving measures on the woman,  but despite those efforts, she was pronounced dead at the scene. Paramedics took the man to a hospital, where he was listed in stable condition, police said.

Officers investigating the incident were told several people were in the parking lot outside the store when a male suspect fired shots at a parked vehicle before leaving on foot, police said.

Police did not release any information about the suspect.
