SAN JOSE – A man was fatally shot in West San Jose on Wednesday night, authorities said.
Officers were called to the 3200 block of Williamsburg Drive, near Winchester Boulevard, about 7:20 p.m. for a report of a person shot, said San Jose police Sgt. Enrique Garcia. They arrived to find a man suffering from at least one gunshot wound.
Garcia said the man was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead a short time later.
The Santa Clara County Medical Examiner-Coroner’s Office will release the man’s identity once it has been confirmed and his next of kin is notified.
The death marks the city’s 21st homicide of the year.
No suspects have been arrested or identified, and the motive and circumstances surrounding the shooting are under investigation, Garcia said.
