Santa Cruz Sheriff: ‘At least one’ suspect arrested in Ben Lomond shooting

BEN LOMOND — The Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Office is warning the public to stay away from the area of Alba Road and Highway 9 in Ben Lomond because there is an “active threat” involving a shooter.

In a Facebook post, the Sheriff’s Office said it has arrested “at least one” suspect but warned members of the public to stay away from the area. More details are expected to come in throughout the day.

Police announced the arrest at 4 p.m., about an hour after announcing that authorities were responding to “multiple critical incidents” in the area.
