OAKLAND — Police were at the scene of a shooting that sent a victim to a hospital Thursday, authorities said.
Around 5:10 p.m., dispatchers received calls reporting several shots near the 2100 block of 109th Avenue in the city’s Las Palmas neighborhood, an Oakland police officer said.
Officers arrived to search for a victim or crime scene but did not initially locate one.
Shortly before 5:25 p.m., San Leandro police told Oakland officers that a victim suffering from at least one gunshot wound had walked into a hospital. The victim was listed in stable condition.
Police blocked off southbound traffic along 109th from Bancroft Avenue while collecting multiple casings found in the street and in parked vehicles nearby.
