OAKLAND — Firefighters knocked down a single-alarm basement fire at a triplex building just outside the city’s Glenview neighborhood, authorities said.

At 6:15 p.m., firefighters responded to the 3600 block of Brighton Avenue and reported a small explosion as crews from three engines and a truck made entry, according to a social-media post.

The fire was under control at 6:35 p.m., an Oakland FIre Department dispatcher said.

There were no immediate reports of injuries or a cause.
