San Jose: Authorities identify man killed in stabbing

SAN JOSE — A man killed over the weekend in a double stabbing in San Jose’s Alum Rock neighborhood has been identified as 51-year-old Gilroy resident Francisco Ibarra, according to the Santa Clara County Medical Examiner-Coroner’s Office.

The stabbing was reported just before 8 p.m. Sunday on the 400 block of North Capitol Avenue.

Officers arrived at the scene to find two men suffering from at least one stab wound each, according to police. The victims were rushed to an area hospital, where one died of his injuries. The other victim’s injuries were described as not life-threatening.

No suspects have been arrested, San Jose police Officer Gina Tepoorten said Tuesday.

The death marked San Jose’s 12th homicide of the year.
